APC's Annual Asian Pacific Islander Graduation (APIG)
What is APIG?
Since 1983, Asian Pacific Coalition has coordinated an annual, end of the year celebration and ceremony for AAPI graduates, known as API Grad or APIG. This event aims to highlight the achievements of the AAPI community on campus and send off graduating members of our community. Graduates are encouraged to wear cultural dress and submit their cultural names to be read during the ceremony.
2026 API Grad: "Waves of Change"
API Grad 2026, "Waves of Change," celebrated the graduating class at James West Alumni Center. The event featured Professor Thu-huong Nguyen-vo (commencement speaker), Parissa Lor-Tim (student speaker), and performances from UCLA's Association of Indonesian Americans (AIA), Sydney Galvez "Sonyo" (UCLA Class of 2027) and EJ Chen (UCLA alum), a Chinese indie musician.
